CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL MUSIC

Gospel music has evolved in the past 20 years.  The sound has changed and the spirit has changed.  R and B has infiltrated gospel music.  The question remains, Is God Listening? I have strong feelings about the quality of music that is being presented during worship services.  For example, I attended one church, no names, in the Greater Bham area, and felt that I was in a night club as oppose to a worship services.  Musicians, we must be careful.  Our presentations should reflect the Holiness of God and accentuate the Word of God.  Now the argument or excuse, is that we should have music that entice the younger congregation.  My opinion is that the Word of God and only the Word should be the strong hold. The Bible does say make a joyful noise with instruments, etc.  But, we should be very careful that we do not induce the secular into the spiritual.  Again, the focus should be On Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Another frighting aspect, is that some contemporary gospel music is now being played in local night clubs.  Wow!
